1. Prepare the Dough     

Start by preparing a basic pie dough or use store-bought pie crusts. Roll out the dough into a rectangle shape on a floured surface.

2. Cut the Dough  

Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut the dough into equal-sized rectangles, approximately 3x5 inches each. These will form the outer layers of your Pop-Tarts.

3. Spread Peanut Butter   

Spread a layer of peanut butter onto half of the dough rectangles, leaving a small border around the edges to prevent the filling from leaking out.

4. Add Jelly      

Spoon a dollop of your favorite jelly or jam onto the peanut butter layer. You can use classic grape jelly, strawberry jam, or any other flavor you prefer.

5. Seal the Pop-Tarts  

Place another rectangle of dough on top of each peanut butter and jelly-covered rectangle. Use a fork to crimp the edges firmly, sealing the Pop-Tarts shut.

6. Ventilation Holes  

Use a toothpick or fork to poke a few small holes in the top of each Pop-Tart. This allows steam to escape during baking and prevents the filling from bursting out.

7. Egg Wash  

Optional: Brush the tops of the Pop-Tarts with beaten egg for a golden, shiny finish.

8. Bake  

Transfer the assembled Pop-Tarts onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
