Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps

1. Ingredients  

Gather your ingredients, including ground chicken, lettuce leaves (such as iceberg or butter lettuce), onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, green onions (for garnish), and optional toppings like chopped peanuts or sriracha.

2. Prepare Lettuce Leaves 

Carefully separate the lettuce leaves, rinse them under cold water, and pat them dry with paper towels. Set aside on a serving platter or plate.

3. Sauté Aromatics    

In a large skillet or wok, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add diced onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger to the skillet, and sauté until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.

4. Cook Ground Chicken 

Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it up with a spoon or spatula. Cook the chicken, stirring occasionally, until it's browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

5. Blend Soup  

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked chicken in the skillet, and stir to coat evenly. Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

6. Assemble Wraps    

Spoon the chicken mixture onto the center of each lettuce leaf, using about 2-3 tablespoons of filling for each wrap. Garnish with thinly sliced green onions and chopped peanuts, if desired.

7. Serve  

Arrange the assembled lettuce wraps on a platter or individual plates, and serve immediately while they're still warm. You can also serve them with a side of sriracha or additional sauce for dipping.

8. Enjoy 

To eat, simply pick up a lettuce leaf filled with the chicken mixture, fold it like a taco or wrap, and enjoy the flavorful and satisfying Asian-inspired dish!
